Hi there! I’m Melinda, the proud owner of Pooch and Pony.

What started as a simple favor for a few friends—feeding their animals while they were away—quickly turned into something much more. I recognized a real need for reliable, loving care in the area, and that’s how Pooch and Pony was born!

I’m deeply passionate about miniature horses—I own, breed, and show them at local, state, and national levels. But if I’m being honest, my absolute favorite part of this journey is the breeding process. It’s like Christmas every breeding season, not knowing exactly what you’ll get—but always being thrilled with the surprise!

In my younger years, I trained and drove standardbred horses in races, and during that time, I had the incredible experience of winning a race at Bulli with a horse named Tommy Brown. That was an unforgettable moment.

My journey also led me to work with Australia’s largest racing stable, as well as alongside an Olympic showjumper and dressage rider. I even spent some time working at an Arabian stud farm, gaining invaluable experience along the way.

I hold a diploma in both animal nursing and equine nursing, which means you can rest easy knowing that your pets and animals are in the best possible hands.
